At Fairfield Country Rest Home, we believe in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that goes beyond traditional care. Our intimate setting, which is all on one level, allows us to cater to the unique needs of each resident, ensuring a sense of belonging and familiarity. With a commitment to personalised care, our home is designed to provide comfort, security, and a community that feels just like family.

Fairfield Country Rest Home has been owned and run by the same family for nearly 25 years and has seen much development and improvement in that time, such as the addition of a large dining room with stunning ocean views and lounge with patio doors out to our four acre gardens.

Fairfield has a ‘good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission, so you can rest assured that your loved ones are in the best possible hands.

Our Facilities

Our carefully curated range of activities is designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals in our care. From engaging social events to stimulating recreational pursuits, our residents have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities tailored to their interests and abilities.

Our dedicated staff ensure a vibrant and supportive community by organising regular group outings to local garden centres, cafes and clubs; chair yoga classes; and arts and crafts sessions. For those seeking relaxation, we offer serene spaces for quiet reflection and peaceful reading, for example in our large garden space.

Our Team

Our dedicated team of over 35 professionals is the backbone of our commitment to exceptional care. From skilled cooks to diligent domestics and our outstanding care team, each member is a vital part of creating a warm and supportive environment.

Local Talent, High Standards: We take pride in our community, and that's why all our staff members are recruited locally. Every staff member is meticulously trained to deliver a high standard of care, creating a compassionate and personalised experience for our residents.

Training for Excellence: Our care staff, the heartbeat of our home, undergo rigorous training. Most are trained to, or are working towards, their DIploma in Adult Care, with continuous professional development being a cornerstone of our approach. For those continuing their education, we provide in-house training and support to attend external courses, enabling them to achieve this qualification.

Medication Management Expertise: The well-being of our residents is paramount, especially when it comes to medication. Our staff members handling medications undergo regular training and hold the necessary qualifications, ensuring the highest standards of safety and care.

Palliative Care Specialists: Two of our staff members are trained to Level 3 in Palliative End of Life Care, with the rest having recently attended Level 2 Palliative End of Live Care, reflecting our commitment to providing comprehensive support. Supported by local surgeries and district nursing teams, we ensure that our residents receive the specialised care they need, including end of life support.

Our Menus

Our commitment to providing exceptional meals begins in our kitchen, where all dishes are crafted by our qualified kitchen staff right on the premises. We take pride in offering a diverse menu that caters to every dietary need, ensuring a delightful 'home-cooked' taste with each bite and bespoke menu options that are reviewed at our regular Resident Meetings.

Farm-to-Table Freshness: In the spirit of creating a genuine home environment, we have our very own allotment managed by a local gardener who shares his growing array of fruits and vegetables with our kitchen when they are in season.

Vegetarian Excellence: We recognise the importance of catering to diverse dietary preferences. As proud members of the 'Vegetarian Club' scheme, we uphold the highest standards for vegetarian meals. Our commitment to wholesome vegetarian options is a testament of our dedication to meeting the unique needs and preferences of our residents.

Local and Fresh: All our produce is sourced locally, supporting nearby shops and suppliers to ensure the freshest ingredients possible. This dedication to quality extends to our comprehensive four-week rolling menu, offering a delightful variety of meals that are both delicious and nutritious.

Flexible Dining Experience: The day begins with a personalised breakfast service, allowing residents to choose when and where they'd like to enjoy their morning meal, perhaps even in the comfort of their own bed with a newspaper in hand. Lunch is a communal affair at 12:30pm, and the day concludes with a relaxing tea service at 5pm. Residents can request juices, teas, and coffees throughout the day, providing a flexible and enjoyable dining experience.
